Browning sauce is a blend of burnt sugar and water, vegetable concentrates and seasonings. Thee sauce is used to add a rich, dark color to foods, and is traditionally added to gravies and sauces. Browning sauce also works well in soups and stews to darken the broth and in traditional Christmas rum cake, also called Black Cake.
